Chief Executive Officer

It's not enough that United Stationers is a leading wholesale distributor of business products in North America, with net sales for 2009 of approximately $4.7 billion.   Our mission is to become a high performance organization, delivering exceptional value through superior execution of innovative marketing and logistics services.  I am pleased to report that we are making progress throughout the company. 

You can see it in our team structure, which allows us to draw on the expertise of associates at all levels to improve every aspect of our business - from making it easy for customers to work with United, to strengthening our partnerships with suppliers.

You can see it in our product category and channel initiatives, where we are working hard to find products that meet the needs of all of our resellers and designing programs to help our independent resellers more effectively build their businesses.   

You can see it in our efforts on cost and value leadership, where we are driving operating costs out of our company - to the tune of $20 million a year - while remaining the best value provider of logistical services.

You can see it in our use of information technology, as we upgrade our systems platform to do a better job of mining data to improve our business processes while strengthening our service to customers.
