Support for Content Initiatives: Image Standards and Submission Guidelines

Vision
Historically, United Stationers has collected images on an as-needed basis to meet the demands of catalog production. Our new initiative is to acquire and maintain the best quality photography of every item we carry to drive quickly executable, cross-media publication.

Image Name
All images must be submitted according to the following naming convention. Any image otherwise named will be held until properly named items are loaded into the system. Additionally, the uncertainty of matching images such as “redfolder__open.tif” to the proper item number is likely to cause errors. Multiple views of the same item should be differentiated with an underscore and a number.

  • Template: UnitedSKU#_View#.tif
  • Example: IVR38249S_1.tif, IVR38249S_2.tif
  • There should not be any spaces, hyphens or other characters in the image name.
  • The “.tif” suffix should always be included at the end of the image name.
